In a bid to attract investments to the state, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is organizing a three-day conclave titled ‘Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018’.
The program is scheduled at the MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai from 18th-20th February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the conclave.
At the curtain raiser press conference on Jan 6, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister revealed event’s tagline ‘MadeForBusiness’ and informed that global investment aims to address four broad themes including Employment, Sustainability, Infrastructure and Future Industries.
Also as a part of the event, a startup competition is being organized. Best ideas are to receive grants up to 50 lakh rupees. The applications for the competition is open and the deadline for the same is 31st January 2018, the event website informed. To register in competition click here
Highlighting his vision, Fadnavis said that with the event in place, the government is looking at strengthening the state’s position as the hub for all industrial investments in India . Also moving towards ‘smart manufacturing’ would be another focus of the conclave.
Industries, infrastructure, textile and food processing, defence manufacturing and electronics are the key areas of the event.
The three-day summit will include interactive seminars, panel discussions, CEO roundtables, and B2B and B2G meetings.
Highlighting potential prospects, the Minister informed that over 45 per cent of total foreign Direct Investment (FDI) received by the country. Maharashtra is recognized as the finance and entertainment hub of India and with summit round the corner.
Industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and KPMG are to partner for the event.
