MP Chandrakant Khaire demands metro rail service in the City

Aurangabad Shiv Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire has demanded that metro rail services be started in Aurangabad City, capital of Marathwada region, in view of upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and inflow of tourist to visit world famous Ajanta-and Elora caves.

According to a statement here on Thursday, Mr Khaire made the demand under Rule 377 in the Lok Sabha to start Metro Rail in Aurangabad on Wednesday.

Mr Khaire said in view of large number of tourist flow to visit world famous Ajantha – Ellora Caves, Bibika Maqbara, Shirdi Sai Baba, Shani Shinganapur (Shanidev Maharaj) Metro Rail was essential.

Budgetary provision information request had already been send by Maharashtra government, he said.

It may be noted that Aurangabad Metro Action Committee (AMAC) had already demanded to start metro rail services around Aurangabad City last month.
